Overview

Many famous mountaineers throughout history have climbed on the flanks of Mt. Everest since it was first attempted by the British in 1921 led by George Mallory. SMI founder Kurt Wedberg reached the summit of Mt. Everest in 1995, May 2008 & May 2012.

For experienced mountaineers interested in a personalized custom climb of Mt. Everest we offer you this unique opportunity. This is a guided climb led by Kurt Wedberg and a team of veteran high altitude mountaineers. Our route will be the South Col, first climbed by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on the first successful ascent on May 29, 1953. From the logistics to expedition support this is a top quality trip throughout.

Included in trip cost: Hotels in Kathmandu, professional guides, transportation within Nepal including round trip flight to/from Lukla, expedition food, all group equipment at base camp and above (tents, ropes, climbing gear, radios), Sherpa support, ice fall fees, oxygen, medical supplies and doctor, climbing permits.

Not included in trip cost: Airline tickets to/from Kathmandu, Nepal, Nepal visa fees, airport taxes, extra nights in hotels beyond our stated itinerary, insurance, airline excess baggage charges, tips for our Sherpa staff and western guides, and costs due to delays beyond our control.
